Wiltipoll Breeder's Show and Sale
The pens at the 2009 Combined Wiltipoll Breeders SaleIn 2010, on the 6th February, Wiltipoll breeders of NSW, take the opportunity to showcase and offer the best of their rams and ewes to the open market. The aim is to get this lean meat, easy care sheep onto as many Prime Lamb breeders' farms and onto as many dinner tables as possible.

Almost everybody loves lamb. But how many of us know what breed of lamb the butcher is selling us - There are very few butchers who sell specific lamb breed cuts of meat. The consumer is starting to demand to know the breed of meat they are buyingf. Consumers will recognise great tasting, low fat, quality lamb.

This will be the first NSW Breeders Registered Wiltipoll Sale under the auspices of the Australian Wiltipoll Association NSW Sub branch. It will be held at the Mudgee Showground because we feel that it will be most convenient, not just for the small acres farmer, but also the serious prime lamb producer from the Western Districts who now recognises that the Wiltipoll breed is the best option for most climatic conditions. It is held in February because Prime Lamb breeders mostly join their ewes in autumn for a spring lambing and besides, wiltipolls are at their peak at that time of year. All studs are welcome to enter their quality stock and all Prime Lamb breeders that want great terminal sires should not miss this opportunity to secure some of the best rams available. The small area farmer that wants easy care sheep, either for their own consumption, or to grow organic lamb, can't go wrong with Wiltipolls.
