I tend to think that it really depends what you are looking for. What would you breed if you had wool sheep. First cross lambs (Border X Merino) or Prime lambs Suffolk or Dorset over first cross ewe. In the world of cleanskins Van Rooy X Wilti are your first cross and a Dorper over that cross would be the Prime lamb. Either way you have a good cross. Do some homework on the Van Rooy you will be surprised how benificial they are in the Australian environment.
